Hoof infection: Use Clean-It Hoof care
Addressing hoof infections is a matter of great significance. Clean-It Hoof care combats the most resilient infections by eradicating bacteria, fungi, and spores from every nook and cranny of the hoof, while also eliminating any remnants of soft, deceased tissue resulting from fungal attacks on the hoof.
Clean-It actions for the treatment of infected hooves :
- Treats the most persistent hoof infections due to bacterial, fungal or spore-forming pathogens.

When should you use Clean-It? :
1. Severe infections : When hoof infections are particularly persistent or extensive, Clean-It may be used to assist in treatment.
2. Recurrent infections : If the infection recurs frequently despite previous treatments, Clean-It may be considered for thorough treatment and eradication of the underlying cause.
3. Dead and Necrotic Tissue : If the hoof has dead tissue that has resulted from fungal activity, Clean-It Hoof care can help remove this tissue and promote healing.
4. Prevention : In addition to treatment, Clean-It Hoof care can also be used as a preventative by soaking the hooves to remove fungal spores to prevent future infections.
5. Chronic problems : For horses with chronic hoof problems or conditions such as laminitis, regular use of Clean-It can help maintain hoof health.
Usage Instructions:
- Thoroughly cleanse the hoof, removing any excess dirt and debris.
- Combine the entire contents of a Clean-It hoof care bottle with one gallon of tap water at room temperature.
- Transfer the entirety of the Clean-It solution into a Remedy hoof boot or a reinforced plastic bag.
- Immerse the hoof completely into the Clean-It solution. In the case of using a bag, elevate the bag's upper part above the knee level and securely fasten it with ties or adhesive tape.
- Allow the hoof to soak for a duration of 45 minutes. For severe or recurrent infections, the soaking time can be extended to 60 minutes.
- Important Note: The efficacy of the Clean-It solution remains viable for a total span of 90 minutes, thus enabling consecutive soaking of two hoofs using the same solution. Post-soaking, the solution can be applied by pouring or spraying on stall floors, trailer mats, and trimming areas to counteract fungal spore presence.
- After the soaking process, it is imperative NOT to rinse or dry the hoof. Instead, position an empty plastic bag over the treated hoof and seal it at the top. Allow the emanating vapors to permeate for 45 minutes.
- For severe or recurrent infections, consider repeating the treatment within a 2 to 4-week interval.
- To maintain hoof health and preempt infections, administer a Clean-It soaking session for each hoof, lasting 20 minutes, every 3 to 4 months.
Caution
Handling and preparation: do not open the bottle until you are ready to use it. Remove the horseshoes and anything on the hoof before use. If the horse needs to be shod, clean the hoof first and prepare it for shoeing. Clean-It is safe to use on open wounds and will not affect the quality, color or appearance of skin or hair.
Storage
Store the bottle in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place. DO NOT expose Clean-It hoof care to sun or heat.
